The Warwickshire Vein Clinic is a partnership between three consultant vascular surgeons
who have worked closely over many years. Their aim is to use the latest techniques

Thread Vein Treatments:
Photoderm Therapy This is an outpatient treatment using intense pulsed light (IPL)
for tiny thread veins (spider veins). It is similar to laser, and uses an intense
pulse of white light to coagulate the blood in the visible thread veins, which is
then absorbed by the body over several weeks, removing the thread vein. Photoderm
therapy is a suitable treatment for very small thread veins on un-tanned skin. It
causes minimal discomfort, may be associated with some bruising and treated skin
must not be exposed to strong sunlight for 6 weeks following a treatment session.
The Consultants at the Warwickshire Vein Clinic have found photoderm therapy to be
highly effective for small red visible veins. If appropriate for your thread veins,
your Consultant will discuss the procedure for photoderm therapy in more detail at
your consultation.
